Creep Compliance and Strength of Hot-Mix Asphalt AASHTO T322 (ex-TP9)

AASHTO T322 uses the Indirect Tensile Jig to apply a static load. The horizontal and vertical deformations are measured near the centre of the specimen using LVDT transducers mounted directly on the specimen. This gives the most accurate results and reduces the chances of operator errors.

By mounting the displacement transducers in the middle of both ends of the asphalt cylinder, it moves the measurement away from the edge errors which cause uneven stress distribution.

The kit includes a mounting template (for placing and mounting the gauge points accurately in position), LVDTs and LVDT mounting arms. Using this apparatus, you can also measure Poisson’s ratio.
